How can I find guidelines on this portal?
You can browse guidelines linked to from this Portal by using any of these pre-defined categories.

Guideline developer: find guidelines produced by a specific developer.
Life stage: find a guideline concerned with the care of a patient at a particular stage of life (eg: the neonate), or a containing specific sections or chapters about a life stage (eg: the treatment of lymphoma in adolescents).
Guideline funder: identify public and private funding agencies that have partially or completely funded clinical practice guidelines.

Evidence documentation: guidelines meeting selection criterion 3 are categorised as ‘evidence documented’, that is the guideline, accompanying document or website contains a description of the literature review and search process.
NHMRC approved: find guidelines approved by the NHMRC.
We are planning to expand the number of browse categories in later versions of the portal.
In addition to browsing you can search for clinical practice guidelines by guideline name or keywords using the ‘or search for’ function. You may prefer to use this function if you are unfamiliar with MeSH terms.
Which guidelines are included?
This Portal only contains links to Australian guidelines that have been assessed against the selection criteria and are less than five years old. As the work of the Clinical Practice Guideline Portal and Register grows, we expect the number of newly published guidelines which meet all four criteria to also increase.
How often is the Portal updated?
We aim to add guidelines to the Portal quarterly. In keeping with international best practice, guidelines which have not been updated for five years will be removed from the Portal at the end of the fifth year.
